    Morning/afternoon/evening all!

Investigation of a member of the family tree leads to the marriage of:

"Arthur Trower, bachelor and Sarah Keet of the parish of Shere, spinster. Married by banns at Albury 1807."

This is from Ancestry = parishes not in a borough>albury>1807.

I found a possible baptism for Sarah Keet, which fits with her spouse Arthur Trower who is born about 1781/2 possibly Wisborough Green, Sussex

    Name: Sarah Keet
    Gender: Female
    Christening Date: 12 Jan 1782
    Christening Place: FRIMLEY,SURREY,ENGLAND
    Father's Name: Henley Keet
    Mother's Name: Marey
    Indexing Project (Batch) Number: C03791-1

I would appreciate some help with the Keet/Trower family.

Sarah, wife of Arthur Trower, aged 30, was buried in Albury 29th September 1820 (Ancestry Surrey Church of England Burials).

Arthur Trower (widower) remarried Bridget Sheehan (widow) on the 23rd November 1823 at Albury, Surrey (Ancestry Surrey Marriages).

In the 1851 census of Albury (HO107/1594/369/10) Arthur Trower a 71 year old blacksmith is to be found with his wife, Bridget, aged 53, daughter Harriet aged 24, along with a Journeyman and a couple of Apprentices.

Looking through my Sussex marriage c.d.s there are many Trowell families in Wisborough Green,no real proof of any who may be Arthur's parents-dae wise. So far this is all I've found on him.
    Arthur Trower
    Role Apprentice
    Indenture or registration year 1795
    Registration year 1795
    Apprentice's first name(s) Arthur
    Apprentice's last name Trower
    Master's first name(s) Robert
    Master's last name Laker
    Master's occupation Blacksmith
    Master's place Wisborough Green
    Master's county Sussex
    ......
    possible:
    Arthur Trower
    Birth year 1781
    Death & burial year 1857
    Age 76
    Albury, Surrey
Church ANGLICAN-ST PETER & ST PAUL

odd that he is not visible in 1841 census unless a name mess up.

Hi Wendy! I think you might have found the correct Arthur Trower, albeit, no parents....but on the marriage of his daughter Mary (Frances Mary) on 29 Aug 1843 he is a blacksmith.

Arthur doesn't necessarily 'have' to be born in Sussex, that's where his master resides. More research required on that one!!

    Wendy :)

I looked on my c.d. for Sussex apprenticeships but it's indexed by location & I just didn't have the time to prowl through. Lost the faith a bit as the one item I bought it for was transcribed wrongly. The Transcriber did apologise but it didn't make the c.d. any more worth for me.

I should have added on all the post 1813 baptisms his occupation is listed as Blacksmith or Smith.
