This Kent thing makes me fume. The parish registers are digitsed but KCC will not give permission for them to be put online. Instead they are busy going out to consultation on the transfer of the Library and Archive service to a Trust.

Is this in the hope of making lots of money by selling register contents tax free via a 'Trust'? I don't put much faith in that particular word. Also not sure how these 'trusts' work. Kent is a disappointment to many other than me I'm sure.

I wrote to the distributor of disc, outlining the above dilemma & asking how I might find which is the true entry.
This morning, oh Joy! I received a message from transcriber to tell me that in fact the correct entry is for JOSEPH as in West Sussex Record Office Poor Law database. He admits to being human in that he can make errors in his transcriptions.

What a MAN!! I will be quite happy to buy his discs again knowing that he is an upright & honest person, not afraid to sort out little peoples problems. 8(:-)

Au contraire, & other words to same effect...I used my trusty fine paint brush to extract any lurking thingies which may have wandered in & under keys, gave the board a cautionary belt on the bottom & voila! we work on:)

Oh I see, 'Wedny' I think it's from an old keyboard of Mogsy, you must consult with herself.;)

Once in a while I run the brush attachment on my Dyson over the keyboard, with the Dyson switched on of course. :)

Have in the past done same with a cardboard toot roll holder squeezed over nozzle of vac, to tease out the goodies, couldn't get vac out of cupboard this time, nor keys off keyboard, so the little brush & a goodly puff of air did the jobby. (yes could have asked for assist with vac, but may have felt compelled to use it elsewhere & at mo, have no push & shove available to me.) ;)
