I am looking for (and not finding) births for sisters, Ellen Eliza Conveney born abt 1862, Spitalfields, Middlesex. She was Baptised 16 Feb 1862, at Christ Church, Spitalfields. parents, Joseph Conveney, Chair Maker and Catherine.
Younger sister, Emma Catherine Coven(e)y, born abt 1867, Spitalfields. She was Baptised in the same church on 29 Sept 1867 to the same parents.

There is an Catherine Conveney, birth in 1865, Stepney but don't think this could be her as Emma is only 3 years old on the 1871 Census.

Joseph Conveney, Head, Mar, 32 Chair Maker. b. Surrey, Southwark
Catherine " Wife, Mar, 31 Chair Caner. b. Mddsx, Spitalfields
    Ellen " Dau S 9 b. " "
    Emma " Dau, S 3 b. " "

Would like Emma's birth certificate (she is OH's 2x gt grandmother) to confirm her mother Catherine's maiden name of Murphy.

Joseph Coveney & Catherine Murphy married 25 Dec 1858 at Bethnal Green. I can't see any earlier births to them before 1862.

    The other children are:
Eliza Annie born 1871, Whitechapel. Died 1876, Mile End Old Town.
Henry Joseph born 1878, Mile End Old Town. Died 1886, Mile End Old Town.
Emily Catherine born 1881, Mile End Old Town. Died 1899, Mile End Old Town.

There are big gaps between the births which seems a little unusual.

    Thanks in advance :)

GRO isn't helping here either, at least not with Mmn of Murphy.
Have you had a spin here to see if any names are familiar?
I tried Coveny/ey & found none with Murphy.

I also found the 1867 Baptism- Joseph -a chair maker & Catherine

    Hi Wendy,
Yes, tried the GRO and like you found no joy :( Also Family Search.

It seems unusual that all the girls share a name of one of the others

Perhaps the time of her birth was one of upheaval or ill health for some-one & her registration was lost in the fog.
Could it be that Catherine Murphy's mother was a Sullivan & that name give in error? 'twould cover the 1865 birth of Catherine.

Don't forget also, it's been known to happen that who-ever registers the birth may have messed with the name the child was baptised with.

I do think Catherine Murphy's mother is Sullivan as you say but looked further into the 1865 Catherine birth and her parents are William and Catherine :(

How probable would it be for two births 5 years apart in the 1860's not to be registered?
