In a newspaper report dated 16th July 1814 I found this I tried looking for a conflict that ended around this time. I thought it may have been the war of 1812 but that didn't end till 24th December 1814. The news of which took 2 months to reach England. Anyone know which conflict it may have been?
The Napoleonic War ended in 1814 - by which time Wellington's army had invaded France from the south. Napoleon adicated, although he subsequently escaped from Elba prior to his final and utter defeat at Waterloo in June 1815.
