    It looks as if Alice BUTCHER, widow, died on 29 December 1859 at Bowness and according to the National Probate Calendar her Will with a Codicil was proved at Carlisle on 9 June 1860 by Richard WILSON of Windermere, Solicitor & County Coroner, one of the Executors. Effects under £600. You could get a copy of her Will and see what clues that gives you.

    Her will is one i have listed to obtain at Carlisle,along with two of her children.
