Certainly agree with that Jan, I can't speak too highly of them, they are a great bunch of people, a credit to the ERO and I hope the Essex County Council appreciates them. I've never come across an organisation like the ERO which has such patience with people like myself who in my early research days didn't have a clue, I believe they went beyond the call of duty to help and guide me.
Out of interest, where did the these initial members come from, another forum I presume? I have only been here a few days but looks like you folks have made this place a great success Well done, congratulations, and thanks! This is the friendliest such forum I have been on, and the most helpful I assume signatures for all members, new and established, is not under consideration. It is kinda normal forum practice for everyone to have this option. I'm not moaning, despite what looks suspiciously like grovelling
Some yes, but others from other places: Family History Societies, friends with a common interest etc Thank you! As mentioned in post #2, signatures are awarded as a thankyou to members who have been particularly helpful and are suggested by Moderators or other members of the forum. I have a birthday in the summer and so awarded some 'Birthday Honours' then and we do have a New Year imminent if people want to message me....
