I looked for the children in the 1901 census and those children appear to be living with Reuben and Amelia Broadhust at48.George Street,Stockport,Cheshire.
I looked at freebmd and there is a marriage between Reuben Broadhurst and Amelia Dickenson in March qtr Stockport district.
Can't find Mary Ellen or John Broadhurst.

Could we be looking at the surname Broadbent? A few hints on other forums may lead to that name change.

I have looked for Mary Ellen as Broadhurst, Dickenson and Bell to no avail:(

The only Broadhurst born Radnorshire that I can find is a Sophiao_O
I have looked at every John Broadhurst on the 1901 census - nothing that could be him.

I cannot see any possible deaths either, so did they go abroad?

Ok. I will put this to you. John Broadburst according to other enquiries was supposed to be John. G Broadhurst and was a shoemaker.
Margaret Amelia Dickenson, Mary Ellen's daughter is supposed to have married George Broadbent also a shoe maker. No marriage found. They had a daughter born Wigan named Agnes in 1896.
John Broadhurst has disappeared and George Broadbent has turned up.
Will keep searching but restricted without my computer.

I'm finding this thread quite intriguing.
A tree I have found has Margaret with George John Broadbent born about 1863 Clun Shropshire. Well I can't find his birth. Putting two and two together we have John George Broadshurst and George John Broadbent. George John Broadbent is supposed to have died in 1915 Eccles Lancashire.
Is it me or have we found these two men are one and the same. I hope I'm wrong.
Edited to add that both these men were shoemakers.

Whoa up there. Check out a thread by Chimp 'Isaac Broadhurst' dated November 23rd 2015. ;) I can't link it because I'm using my phone.
You may find someone in Tasmania as a convict. ;)

Well, Well, Well. I had totally forgotten about that thread. So looks like the family were renowned for having aliases.

    Good find @Archie's Mum :)

Well you have all been busy on my behalf, thank you.I have some details of Sophia White aka Sophia Broadhurst re:tranportation to Tasmania. She had 3 sons all named George which she lost. The alleged father being a Charles White. At sometime later she had 2 daughters one in-named & one called Ann Anna. I have it that she married a Henry Pitchers in 1852 Oakland.
There is an article about her in a book published 2009 Convict Lives:Women at Cascade female Factory publishedby Tasmania Research.
John Broadhurst was her nephew I think
