We need help. We have been trying to find a birth/christening entry for Thomas Bagnall My Great x2 G/father. Also, if you come across Anne Heath's birth/christening entry that would be a bonus. One christening for a Thomas Bagnall, dated 11 Nov.1798. parents Charles/ Mary, St. John's Burslem Staff. We dismissed this entry on the grounds that it did no follow convention as there are no Charles's in our lineage, first or middle name. Thomas / Anne's children in order of birth, Sarah, Mary (a common name),Thomas,Anne, Richard (my lineage), Robert and William. Ancestry has many trees that purported to have found Thomas's ancestors,but, until his birth certificate/ entry with his parents names none of them will be relevant to our lineage. Other genealogy sites may have the information needed. The transcribed 1851 census has them down as Bognell at Boothem Stoke upon Trent Staff. Thomas was born about 1794, married Anne Heath 11 June 1816. Another Oops. clumsy fingers, try Boothen Stoke on Trent. It now appears to be part of Penkhull in Google maps. Although the grave inscriptions have it as Boothem.
Post # 4 Ann is daughter of Thomas Heath and Rebecca Shaw. On an optusnet tree Richard Bagnall is married to Elizabeth Hulse daughter of Thomas HULSE and Rebecca Shaw. Are there two Rebecca Shaw’s?
Thank for that, it would seem another Oops would be in order. You are correct, One only Rebecca Shaw she was married to Thomas Hulse. Richard was the fifth Child of Thomas and Ann Bagnall (Heath) Elizabeth was the third child of Thomas and Rebecca Hulse(Shaw) They were married on the 16 Oct.1820. It would seem my head space is not in the right frame of mind at the moment. Will try and edit the misinformation, if unable to edit, I will wait till the morning before posting anything else.

Did you notice that the 1841 has Thomas with wife Ann...51 HO107 990/4 and the 1851 has Thomas with wife Jane 40 HO107 2006/142. Children on both match, names and ages.
Definitely Bagnall on the 1851 through Family Search viewable at FMP but with wife Jane, not Ann but farmer of 160 acres as stated. So no idea what happened there

Hi Archie's Mum Regarding 1851 Census, the hand writing is very poor (I can relate to that) what appears to be Jane is actually Anne, the same as Bagnall appears to be Bognell. Sadly, I cannot claim credit for all of the research, it has been a combination of past and present researchers, i would like to think i played some small part. The present researcher is my Sister in law, always checking and re checking facts.

Thomas Bagnall and Anne Heath parents are the stumbling blocks that stopping us from going further back. ( you never know, once past this road block, we may get back to William who gave his horse to Charles the 2nd.)
