It depends what you mean Colin. It's always been a serious offence to give wrong information and to an extent there would be little point in doing so even though there have been some startling frauds in recent years, particularly in east London. If you mean that you can't find someone that you expected to be there, then there could be a variety of reasons for that, not least the sometimes complex rules which govern eligibility to appear on the register - these change over time...and always remember that the date of the electoral register is not the date the register was compiled. For many years the information to be included was gathered up to 5 months before the date of the register. Have you got a particular problem in mind?
Maybe I do and maybe I don't. When I posted this earlier I thought I had a problem. Then I had supper and I wasn't so sure. Now I've lost the momentum of this issue, the nurse is here to hook me up to my dialysis re-cycler so I'm gonna sleep on it and come back tomorrow. Yes, electoral registers have to be treated with caution. One of my lot was listed as an elector for several years after he was committed to an asylum. It was clearly wishful thinking that he was still head of the household.
Ok - I confused myself with lotsa help from this family. Here's how: 1] Among the children that Ada Florence Curnow had were 2 children - Albert Charles William [born 1910] and Edith D. [born 1913] 2] By 1937 both A.C.W. and Edith D. had hooked up with "intentions". A.C.W.'s intended was Edith D. Bowman and this couple were married 2 October 1938 in Shepherds Bush. For reasons known to the family Edith D. Curnow now became known as Evelyn and she went on to marry Roy Stewardson 4th q. 1937 in Brentford RD vol 3a page 367. 3] As a result the household in 1945 at 6 Glendun Road, Acton consisted of: Ada F Curnow - widowed mother Arthur L. Curnow - unmarried son Albert C.W. Curnow - married son Edith D. Curnow - wife of Albert C.W. Quite simple eh??
