I don't know where to put this really but need help with finding the family in 1939 and a death of Maud or Maudee. The couple married 1905 at Wandsworth and both sons were born at Battersea. Maud was 1883 in Cornwall Thomas died in 1951 he was living at Surbiton,Surrey. Found this information on find a will (the free search). A son was living at Kingston-upon-Thames at that time. I believe another son died in Somerset in 1964 but I can't find a will so that will stay a question mark.
I wonder if Maud died relatively young, Genie. The 1920 Electoral Register of Battersea shows Thomas CONHEENEY living at 120 St John's Hill together with wife Maud. There are two other people listed at this address, Alice Emma MORGAN & Thomas Henry MORGAN. However the 1921 & 1923 Electoral Registers only show Thomas CONHEENEY, Alice Emma & Thomas Henry MORGAN living there. However, I am not having any luck finding a death or burial record for her - so far. Janet
I have done the surname everyway and have left her name out also spelt it with and without an E and no luck whatsoever.
I have searched for Maud/Maude with and without a surname and year of birth in all parts of the UK and can't find her anywhere. Maud was born in Cornwall in 1882 at Whitstone,Cornwall. She married Thomas Conheeny in 1905 in Wandsworth, London. I have found Maud in the 1911 census but can't find her in 1939 or a death. Her husband died in 1951 and his address at that time was 26 Wolvertone Avenue,Kingston-upon-Thames and one of his sons was administrator. 1911 she is living at Census reference RG14PN2217-RG78 code number 75-Piece number 2217. I have all information abut Maud/Maude up to the 1911 census and the name of her sons.
The only other sighting I can see of her is in Electoral Registers in 1919 and 1920 with husband Thomas at 120 St John's Hill, Battersea, Wandsorth. In the 1921 Electoral Register at the same address, Thomas is there, but not Maud/e.
I had forgotten about this thread having only recently going back to family history. Hard to say what happened to her. I can't find her under that surname remarrying either.
Will someone help me find Thomas in 1939 because I can't find hide or hair of him. Hoping to see who is living with him. His wife has disappeared altogether. One of the sons appears to be living in Nottinghamshire.but no Thomas with him.
Try looking for Conkeeney b25/12/1879 - a widowed railway guard living 8 New Brow, Malden Surrey (FMP transcription) there is a widowed Blanche Wheeler doing unpaid domestic duties in the household
Maud must have died 1920/1921. I searched under the the usual spellings and added Conkeeney to the mix but no Maud. I looked at the 1939 information after MollyMay's message and reported error.
Name: Maude M Venner Event Type: Death Registration Quarter: Oct-Nov-Dec Registration Year: 1955 Registration District: Surrey Northern County: Surrey Event Place: Surrey Northern, Surrey, England Age: 74 Birth Year (Estimated): 1881 Volume: 5G Affiliate Line Number: 3 Could this be her?
There is a Maude M Venner (transcribed as Vennner) on the 1939 reg. b23/4/1880 1 Kimber Rd. Wandsworth married to John William (b1880) + 3 working children, so the death entry post#14 might be her
So how strange is that? Maude Venner is in Wandsworth with hubby John William in 1939. In 1920 Maude Conheeny nee Venner is with hubby Thomas in Wandsworth. Forget all that Maude Maria Woolley married John William Venner in 1901
Doubt if she will be found. There was talk that she went to New Zealand but there doesn't seem to be any reason for her to go there.
