Dear all, I have just seen a post on Genuki"s facebook page which says that FMP have entered into a partnership with Kent County Council regarding their parish records holding. Here is a snippet: Findmypast to publish original Kent parish registers online for the first time Kent County Council has begun digitisation and records will be available to search, exclusively on Findmypast, later in 2018 The new additions will join Findmypast’s existing Kent collections to form the most comprehensive online archive of Kent parish registers in the world This is a teeny bit disingenuous as a lot of registers are already searchable but only in Maidstone. KCC have always refused to let them be published online which is naughty as they are the custodians not the owners but hey ho. Better late than never. This will really please a lot of you but @Ma-dotcom particularly.
Amen to that. Thank you Blackmogs. So I may have to save harder -ignore nonsenses such as medical outlays & other worldly expenditure to rejoin FMP. Oh dear, this retirement is not adding up to the fun thing I hoped it would be. Now to work out if it would be easier to join the local [Kent] Family History org. Or perhaps this M. Heritage site which so far has just been a jumbled mess. May go for the KFH thingy it's about same as Sussex SHS I think.
Thanks Blackmogs for the heads up, I don't have any Kent lines to check but my wife has some Kent ancestors.
Well finally got around to doing this. some days are diamonds some are not. Why couldn't I leave well enough alone?
