BODEN and variations around Staffordshire

    GOBSMACKED!!

    I thought you might want to hear that I have discovered LIVING relatives from the Harvey forebears of my WALKER family. I kept looking on Ancestry, Geni and WikiTree etc for George Harvey's mother, Obedience HADLEY. A few days ago I found a tree on Ancestry with Obedience, her husband William HARVEY and all her surviving children. I contacted the tree owner and within 15 minutes had a reply back from a Harvey who lives right where the original HARVEYs came from near Oldbury, Worcestershire, England.

    He had wondered why he could not find any information on George Harvey past his marriage to Jane Boden (all Censuses of George with his children are given as WALKERs). Mr Harvey in the present is descended from George Harvey's brother, William HARVEY, who remained a Harvey.

    So now we have two families re-united as one! And we can look at some DNA to see if there are any traces of Harvey genes in present day Walkers. Amazing!

    Brilliant, and truly amazing, love it when research finally pays off :)

    (My great uncle was killed in 1915 when he was knocked down by a steam lorry in Oldbury.)
