It would seem the cheapest way of accessing the above mentioned records is
to join Malvern FHS. Have a look at their website and judge for yourself.

 

The CD Service on Parish Chest stopped trading in June, My records were sent to me by E Mail in PDF Format (Hallow & Martley) but only as a 'one off'.
With Parish Chest you can now only obtain what is advertised mostly in book format I believe

 

Thanks Burt, will give it a try. The Worcester History Centre is about 40 miles from me, add in the time to inspect microfish & parish records and return home its not a journey to do on a regular basis which is why I used Ancestry but even they drew a blank with Benjamin prior to 1739. Like all good mysteries it won't be solved overnight.

 

Brian, If you turn up something that you'd like looked at, at Worcester HC, I can always pop in as I live nearby.
Looking at Family Search, the surname Everton seems prevalent in Burton-upon-Trent and Caverswall in Staffordshire so maybe possibility he came from there...

 

That's great thanks. You could look up Benjamin in Diocese of Worcester, Worcestershire Probate Index 1600-1858. Benjamin died in 1777 so saves a lot of page turning. Might be a false trail but worth either confirming or not.

No problem at all, thanks for offering. I re-joined Ancestry a few days ago and still no further with Benjamin, what a mystery. I think he came here by UFO!!!

 

Have since re-joined Ancestry but still draw a blank with my search. What is interesting is my partner Jayne asked me to do her Family Tree with connections to Oxfordshire and Wales and easily ended up as far back as 1545 thanks to an enormous volume of records, however Worcestershire for whatever reason is way behind other available records online?? Looks like I'm in for the Long Haul.

Hi Brian,
Finally managed to get to the Archives yesterday! Apologies for the delay but we had a family bereavement.
There were a 'Admon' for a Ann Everton (formerly Sapworth) wife of Moses Everton of Hallow, dated 05 Oct 1771.
A Will for Benjamin Everton of Hallow, dated 11 Jan 1777 and a 'Admon' for Mary Everton of Chaddesley Corbett, dated 19 September 1786 (wife of Benjamin).

There were also three other Wills for a Richard Everton of Elmbridge dated 03 Aug 1778, Susannah Everton of Rowley Regis dated 04 March 1752 and William Everton of Rowley Regis dated 30 July 1750 but unfortunately, I ran out of time as I had to teach myself how to use the computer scanner!!! Did get there in the end (all the staff were on their lunch break). Tried just taking photos on my phone but the documents are a little difficult to read so thought printouts would be better that you can then scan to enlarge.....
Can you PM me with your address and I'll send them to you.
Will do another visit to get the other Wills

Elmbridge is on the other side of Droitwich which is north of Worcester. Rowley Regis is near Dudley in the Black Country, 29 miles from Elmbridge....

I hope there is someone far better than me at reading ancient writing and can tell me the content of the docs enclosed fully. I do have another for a relative of Benjamin but quite understand the time involved so can wait if necessary.
