Name Mary Brockelbank Probate Date 18 Jan.1823
Residence Southwark---[4 children now living ]

Would any one consent to read this will of my 4th Gt.G'Mother Mary [Liddard] Brockelbank and tell me the names mentioned of her children please.? I know her dtr Elizabeth [Groves is mentioned as deceased along with son '?'. lines 31 + 38-39 mention them. Also her 4 children now living.

I can't seem to fit her known children into this document apart from 3 who are mentioned more than once & another who I believed to be using the 2nd name of one of her children.[as they do]

Any assist greatly appreciated, I've read it several times 7 keep getting interruptions which don't help.
Would so like to attach to my files when I know for sure what I am attaching & whether or not I need to search a bit further.
Thank you for reading if you can

So far I think I can read, Lucretia,Thomas executor, George, late daughter Elizabeth, late son Samuel and Mary.
“Four children, namely Thomas, Christous?,George, Lucretia”
Not too sure but had a go anyway.
On line six she mentions John Brockelbank son of my late husband.

I read Thomas (christened as Brocklebank), George, deceased son I read as Samuel but not totally convinced, Lucretia, Elizabeth and stepson John.

I think the son's name is Lemuel, rather than Samuel.

Yes. Lemuel. But I have cheated:rolleyes:. From Newbon Family History John Brockelbank had a son John (as mentioned in Marys will). Then with Mary he had Elizabeth (Groves), Lemuel, Ann (Moss), Lucretia (Devall), Thomas.
Ann Moss is mentioned after Thomas (Christened......) on line 35

I read Samuel, presumably named for her father Samuel Liddiard who she also mentions.

Missed the reply by time :(
Yes Sue, thanks, that one word had me looking & looking until 'christened' finally popped up. A very good 'go' you had.
Ann -[Moss ] I completely missed.

@AnnB Lemuel / Samuel was what I originally typed as there was both in the family. The similarity between the 'L' for Lucretia & the '?' for Samuel Lemuel is what made me choose Samuel. The name does look to have a 't' at the end next to the 'l'. Lemuel is what I have in files.

Only Mary -[married Rolt] & William died 1829 missing. Thank you all very much I think this will now make sense.

I thought the S of Samuel looked the same as the s for son. But that doesn't mean I'm right.:D

I have only 4 Lemuels -3 Liddard & 1 Brockelbank. There were some who used it as 2nd name later I think. 2 were in same family- sibs of Mary. One died just before the other was born, thus being given same name.

I didn't pursue this line too far as there were many & I really wanted to get my Martin line down first. Still things to do. :reading:
