Can anyone find a marriage for Edward James Mothersole to Caroline Martha Bresson please. On FreeBMD it's under 1869, Shoreditch RD, 1c, 441.
Sorry Sis, I looked - it is not on Anc. FMP have the wrong page number (411) and the Marriage locator has not transcribed the church yet. Could it have been a Catholic marriage?
If the marriage took place in a Register Office, then I don't think you will find an image on line (take it that is what you are looking for?). I've had several where I've browsed original registers but not found anything. When I have sent for a copy of the certificate from the GRO the marriage took place in a Register Office.
She was a witness at her sister Louisa Sarah's marriage in 1870 to Charles Newman in St. James Church, Shoreditch.
1871 census has Edward James Mothersole with wife Caroline Martha and 6 month old daughter Caroline Bresson Mothersole (RG10/439 fo7 p7)
Thanks AM. I don't know what they are doing but they've got it wrong. I've got this family mostly sorted except for some original parish register entries.
Various secondhand details here and there about St Saviour's, Southwark and Edward being born in that district. Could be their church?
