What reason would there be for a person who was born, married lived & died in England [Essex] to have a Will marked 'Reseal'? He died Forest Hospital Buckhurst Hill, Essex. May have at some time been in Ireland I don't know . He is mentioned for probate in England & His Wife & Brother are named. Death Date: 24 Jan 1961 Death Place: Essex, England Probate Date: 14 Mar 1961 Probate Registry: London, England So why Ireland, is that perhaps where the will was lodged? Dates with both are the same, effects vastly different. " Re-sealed Belfast 28 April." This was a 3rd cousin once removed, & today I 'met' the G'Dtr of one his cousins [Canada] so don't really wan to name names. Any help so appreciated.
I am not sure of the complete answer but I think that resealing of the will would be because he could have had assets in Ireland. The will would need to be sealed and then re-probated (or something similar) in Ireland in order for those assets to be released. I think....
Thank you Jan, I wondered at something of the sort as the amounts were so different. Pressure cooker going full toss- must go turn it down & time cooking.
