I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but I've just picked up on another forum that the cost of a copy of a will from the Find A Will site is now only £1.50 - previously it was £10.

Have I been asleep, or has it been changed on the quiet? Not that I'm complaining...

Well I just got one from Find A Will and it cost me £10. (well £20 if you count the first £10 I lost through giving the wrong information and it couldn't be found)

Although on their site it does say:'

Search for a probate record by post
Download and fill in form PA1S to search for a probate record by post. Send it to the address on the form.

It costs £1.50 for a search by post. This includes a copy of the probate record and will (if there is one).

You should get a response within 4 weeks.

I shall take a look at my bank statement.

Still waiting here too, but I suppose they didn't reckon on just how many orders they would get once they dropped the price

Well I ordered a large number which were due by 8th August; 2 arrived very quickly. 3 days ago I ordered 3 more and 2 of those have arrived but none of the others. I have sent an enquiry via their system which is supposed to take 2 days. I am waiting! :sceptical:

I think it depends on the date of the will. The two more recent ones I ordered arrived after a couple of days, it's the older ones I'm waiting for :)

Glad to know I'm not alone. I've waited the allotted 10 working days. I agree AnnB. They've probably been inundated plus its holiday season.

Ah, it's not just me then! I ordered 3 that were due by the 10th (although as that was a Saturday, maybe they meant the 12th?). Anyway, nothing has arrived so far. One is from the 19th century but the others are from the 1980s. I suppose I'll just have to be patient. Luckily I have no shortage of things to do in the meantime ...
