The above are children of Henry Osborne and Grace Rogers. I can't find Jane after 1841 when she is living with her mother andsiblings at Illogan Highway. 1851 Henry is living with his mother and siblings but no Jane. He disappears after 1851. Henry (1795) and Grace (1804) had 5 children all born Illogan. I have all the information about William(1820) and I think that Elizabeth (1822)married Joseph Brokenshire and that Elizabeth died Union workhouse in 1893. Andrew (1830)married Grace Allen. It is just Jane and Henry that I can't find at the moment.
On another thread about the Osborne’s it was suggested that Jane may have died in 1850. Was the marriage of Henry Osborne in 1820 to Elizabeth Rogers?

There is a marriage in 1848 for a Jane Osborne at the registry office, Redruth Marriage date: 30 Mar 1848 Groom: Edward Sincock, 20, Bachelor, Miner of Camborne Father: Thomas Sincock, Miner Bride: Jane Osborne, 21, Spinster of Highway Illogan Father: Henry Osborne, Miner Seems they went to Australia as that was where they were divorced on 6 May 1869 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia The divorce bit I found on a tree on Ancestry.
Sincock v Sincock and Webb A petition by Edward Sincock, a miner, praying for dissolution of his marriage with Jane Sincock, his wife Mr Dobson appeared for petitioner. No appearance for respondent or co-respondant. The marriage took place in March 1848in Cornwall, England and petitioner and his wife came to Australia a short time afterwards. They had eight children. They separated in 1862 in consequence of Mrs Sincocks drunken habits. Since then she had behaved in a very criminal way at Clunes, having been frequently before the police court as a drunken and disorderly character. The co-respondant, it was said, admitted having passed a night with her (just one ) The court granted the decree. The Argus Thursday 6 May 1869 I will look for more on Jane.. Just started to look boy where do we start. Firstly she died on 20th June 1873 Age 50 years of nephria formerly of Cornwall. I will continue later....
Well, so many charges. Too many to list here. Poor lady. I feel sorry for her. Edward disappeared over to New Zealand for about a year around 1867. When he came back she had farmed out the kids. But he was good bloke, he kept paying for the kids and her.
They went to South Australia first. But darned if I can figure out South Australia immigration records. These could be their children born there... William Henry 1849 Elizabeth Ann 1850 Edward 1851 Grace 1852 Elizabeth Jane 1853. So this means that they must have arrived in SA around 1848-49 Also it seems that Jane was in and out of prison in Victoria.
OK if they married in March 1848 then there is an Edward Sincock arriving on the Constance in Adelaide leaving London to Port Adelaide 15/5/1848 and arriving 25/8/1848. No sign of Jane though.
Immigrants per Constance from London.....Saturday 2 Sept 1848 South Australian Register John Sincock, Edward Sincock, wife and child etc. There is also a John Osborn on board.
If Jane is correct may be her brother Henry emigrated to Australia. I wonder who put the tree on Ancestry. I don't go on to that site and I like proof as to whether people are related. Hence the number of certificates that I have bought over the years. Lucky for me,I have found a number on family search and have downloaded them for free. But thanks for the snippet Chimp. Sometimes I have been lucky to find the annswers to questions on the certificates through witnesses.
SINCOCK Edward, Jane OSBORN, child arrived in SA 1848-08-26 aboard Constance from London 48-05-16 via Plymouth I think that means they left Plymouth on 16th May 1848 and arrived in SA on 26th August 1848 South Australian Register, Wed 30 Aug 1848, Page 2 THE 'CONSTANCE,' EMIGRANT SHIP. This arrival took place on Saturday, and has added 216 souls to our population. The Constance left London on the 16th and Plymouth on the 26th May, so that the passage from land to land did not exceed ninety-one days. She is a new ship, and proceeds hence to China.
