I've been wondering about smaller charities who look after animals- wildlife or domestic.
Quite apart from volunteers unable to work, they are likely to be getting fewer donations.

A telephone call to the vet yesterday for help regarding getting flea treatment, was to go to the vet surgery which is 15 miles away as mine is closed. I would have to take public transort so that isn't on. They are posting the stuff to me and it is £5 postage. My dog's annual checkup is in May and was told that it will be okay until June.

I inherited my friend's dog when she died last year. He has to have medication each month (6 tablets, 1.5 ml of syrupy stuff and a powder each day) and my local vet was brilliant. I emailed them, they got the stuff ready, I paid remotely and they passed a bag of meds to me through the window on a tray.

They have also set up the facility for video consultations.... Not sure how that would work though... o_O

The rescues over here are crying for financial help. In Ontario there are new restrictions and they can't send the pets out to fosters at the moment and/or do home inspections to place pets so they are very worried since kitten and puppy season is upon us. Also the wildlife rehabbers are in the same boat.

I answered this and then read firther and realised that one was well and truly answered without me, sorry for not keepiing up with you all, I am spending way too much time managing a Facebook group and I need to spend more time here.

I am slowly weeding out my Ancestry tree, as it is ridiculous, it will still be ridiculous when I finish, but will at least be smaller, even if I am the only one that knows it

It's not necessarily the downward slide it appears to be. Hospitalisation and oxygen is working for a lot of people. The problem with this virus is that there are so many twists and turns... you feel better, think you've beaten it, and then it comes back and gets you in the chest.

There doesn't seem to be any standard pattern to symptoms either. Some people get very sick about 10 days in, others like my friend, went from feeling a bit off colour to ITU in 3 days. She was then comatose and at death's door for another three days but today, she is finally off the ventilator and wants a marmite sandwich.
