Apparently Fold3 are giving free access to everything until Monday 25 May 2020 at 11.59 p.m ET.

This was at the bottom of the e-mail I got from them.

*Access to all records on Fold3® will be free until 25 May 2020 at 11:59 p.m. ET. After the free access period ends, you will only be able to view the records in the featured collections using a paid Fold3® membership.

I am a member, but only because I signed up years ago for the free trial, which I then cancelled - but still have a Log In.

Now, who were all those Army Pension records for that we needed to see, but couldn't because Fold3 has them?

I just got that email too ... and asked myself that same question. I'm sure there was something I wanted to look at just last week?

There's a list of them. You know that list you can't find when you get free access.

That's a site I know nothing about, I'll have to go and see what sort of records they have.

Lots of American stuff, Derek, but also English Military Records that at one time were available on Ancestry - until they moved them to Fold3 (which is connected to Ancestry), for which you need a sub

@Jellylegs Thank you for telling us about this. I have just found a pension record for my granduncle giving his regiment and regimental number which where unknown before. Given the surname of Smith this helps so so much in tracking him down.

I was lucky with 8 Pension records & other info. Missed entirely on 3 names, one was a British lad from Australia.
One curiosity was one pension being denied to the widow, couldn't make out why. I guess they had their reasons o_O
