Is it possible to find if there any children born to a couple who married in 1932 in Melbourne, Australia? The couple are Edgar Willie Johns (1888-1953) & Emily Hope Morris (1881-1959).
According to the VICTORIAN BDM search site which is now FREE https://www.bdm.vic.gov.au/research-and ... ly-history Date Range: records are closed for 30, 60 or 100 years The Historical index has entries relating to: births in Victoria from 1853 to 1918 (100 year rule) marriages in Victoria from 1853 to 1959 (60 year rule) deaths in Victoria from 1853 to 1989 (30 year rule)
If anyone can help with outlining the process, that's fine, but we cannot help to find them. See rule number 3 here: https://genealogy-specialists.com/threads/the-rules-important-please-read.422/
Shame I'm doing a tree for cousins in Oz (their maternal side) and Edgar is a 1c2xr so would like to make contact with cousins....
If they married in 1932 and Emily was born 1881, that would make her 51 at marriage...wouldn't that be a bit old to start a family ?
Just as an aside, Emily's parents grave image can be found here Code: https://billiongraves.com/grave/Jessie-Marie-Morris/14724485
I was all excited to start a search on Trove, but they’ve changed the whole setup and it’s going to take me forever to figure it out. I’ll have a go later after the usual women’s work, . It’s never done.....
One of the Mods on an Australian F.B. page made a short video explaining the new set up. Pity I can't share it with you.
I gave up in disgust. I’m quite certain there is a worldwide conspiracy against people of a certain age. If we’re not being disposed of by a virus then they’ll do it with technology. Can’t even buy anything with paper and coin anymore. No time yesterday as we started back at art class so will have another go today. Sorry @dizzyme

Chimp, You really are a marvel . Had Edgar's birth but didn't have the other info and you have solved the mystery of what happened to Jane Johns (nee Andrew) who I'd previously mentioned in my 'Bigamy' post! Jane must have obtained her divorce from George Leggoe Johns... She was born in 1848 so made it to the grand old age of 97/98
