    Click on Parish Registers.
Find the parish that you want, bearing in mind there are two pages. It's my understanding that Gravesend registration district also covers Milton. Gravesend is on page one. On page 2 of the parishes you will find Milton next Gravesend. You click on the parish that you want to look at, which takes you to Fonds 'Level of description' page, underneath is 'Hierarchy browser' and next to that is a blue cross and a yellow folder, then, for example:
    GRAVESEND, ST GEORGE PARISH RECORDS
    fonds | P159
    1547-1973

Click on the plus sign, that will bring up a heap more levels. For the parish registers you need to click on 'INCUMBENT Registers and Services etc', next just click on the register you want to look at. Remember to scroll down as there usually heaps there. Just click on any plus sign you see and you'll get more records. when you find the register you want to look at click on it and at the top you'll see a description and whether or not it has been digitised.
Let me know if you have any problems, as sometimes I don't explain things properly.

Well I have found the missing child he was Ernest Arthur born 31 Dec 1903.
I also had a look at the records of the workhouse and while they were in there Annie gave birth to a Male child, so it must have been Frederick James born 1910.
In the 1901 census it has Albert's place of birth as Cambridge. A lot of trees on Ancestry have him.
A lot of trees on Ancestry have confused two different Albert Thomas Gale (Thomas) one born 25 Sep 1893 I will claim this one, and the other born 1892. plus some have a William Francis where as I have William Frederick. so some of them are wrong for sure. I have ordered two marriage certs so will see what info we get on those.
Could somebody who knows how please (as I did try) to see if there is a marriage cert on the cityark.medway site for Ernest John Ellen and Annie Fanny Pickett in 1897 at Gravesend.

The marriage took place in the Tunbridge Wells Registration District, which does not include Gravesend.

    December quarter, 1897, volume 2a, page 1420

For a list of the places that the Tunbridge Wells district covers click here. :)

As Sue said in post #2 that marriage was Tunbridge registration district. Unfortunately there's no parish registers on Cityark for the parishes covered by this district.:(

I thought there may have been some info for you on The Weald for the marriage, but sadly, no. However i have found an Annie Pickett born 1864, father George a photographer and Frances, mother, Annie born Horsham Sussex. These sound suspiciously like Annie Fanny's parents. There is Minnie, born 1865, Isabella 1861, Albert Robert 1862, Nelly 1866 and Edwin 1876, all with George and Frances Pickett as parents.

Thank you so much. I ordered the marriage certificate for Ernest John Ellen and Annie Fanny Pickett. If that one is right I will get George and Frances as well.

I now have the marriage certificate for George Charles Thomas and Ruby Dorothy Ellen she was 18 he was 20. His father was Albert Thomas Commercial Clerk and her father was Ernest John Ellen Hairdresser. The married 13 June 1917 by Licence at the register office. Witnesses were looks like N F Thomas and M Ellen. So we were on the right track with that.
I also got the marriage certificate of Ernest John Ellen and Annie Fanny Pickett he was 29 and she was 31 they married 21 Nov 1897, he was a hairdresser and his father was John Ellen deceased rank carpenter. Annie’s father was George Pickett a photographer. Witnesses were Edwin Pickett and Isabella Emma Pickett.
My friend is keen to see what we can find out on the Ellen family. I think John Ellen married Celia Fordred in 1857. I have suggested that he gets this marriage certificate next.
I think John Ellen’s parents are James and Sarah Harris. Could somebody Please take a look to see if I am on the right track.

Thanks for taking a look. What is the date of bap for Sarah? You have 1979 should it be 1897? Would I be able to get further back on these two or is that as far as we can go.
