Looking for a Hannah Elliot who married John Harrington in 1708 at Sible Hedingham, Essex, they raised their 5 (known) children at Sible Hedingham. I have been using the period 1672 to 1692 to search and so far nothing on Ancestry, Free Reg, Family Search and FMP. I have found the baptism of Hannah's husband John Harrington at Sible Hedingham. I did find one Hannah, Hannah Elyott baptised 14 Jan 1661 at Bradwell-Juxta-Mare, her father noted to be Primus Ellyott, that Hannah would be aged about 47 years so I think that rules her out. John and Hannah's children were named John, Hannah, Mary, Jane & Margaret, they were baptised 1710 to 1719, Mary is my ancestor.
I can see a transcription of a bap at Colchester St Nicholas 1/11/1691 for a Hannah Ellet - no other details. It might be worth trying to find this entry elsewhere to confirm the details (source Essex Baptisms from ERO). The only other is an Ann Eliot d/o William 1685 in Netteswell - but surely too far from your Sible Hedingham.
Wondering if she could be the Hannah Elliott baptised 17 Sep 1690 St. Giles, Cripplegate, London? Parents Giles and Eliz..... Essex Archives list a Marriage Licence Bond of John Harrington and Hannah Elliott - date of creation 1708. (not available to view on-line ) Category: Archdeaconry Commissary of Bishop of London Their reference is D/ABL 1708/65 Perhaps that would give some more details about Hannah? I have had a look around, but can't see it elsewhere on-line.
I did find those two Molly, Hannah Ellet being born in 1691 would have been around 17 in 1708 so old enough to marry by a year. Like you I considered Netteswell too far away from Sible Hedingham, it's 39 miles but when you have a female ancestor born in Yorkshire who marries in Essex it makes me, reluctantly, to consider any place in Essex is not really too far away, I have a continuous battle with myself on that score. I'm going to look for siblings of those two Hannahs hoping there's a clue waiting to be found, although John and Hannah Harrington having only four children it doesn't give a lot to work with.
Found a few children who are siblings of the Ann (not Hannah as I stated) Elliott of Netteswell, all children of William and Ann Elliott baptised at Netteswell From Ancestry's Essex Parish Register Index. Mary 1682, Ann 1684 or 5, dual entry. Frances or Francis 1688, another dual entry. Thomas 1690. (a male) 1692. Elizabeth 1693. Just thinking if the mother's name is simply Ann, not Hannah, would their daughter Ann be likely to be known as Hannah? I'll be looking for siblings of the Colchester Hannah Ellet/Ellit tomorrow.
Going to put Hannah Elliott on the backburner, not having any luck whatsoever. I tried following up the Hannah Elyott baptised 14 Jan 1661 at Bradwell-Juxta-Mare, father Primas, probably Primus, couldn't find any siblings. Checked out the name and as expected it meant first, female version is Primas, male version Primus. Perhaps it was Primas for the mother of Hannah not her father, perhaps the transcriber assumed it was a male name. Hannah being illegitimate could explain the apparent absence of siblings.
