Hello, from Ontario, Canada

Hello @Allie, welcome to the fold! Here I am in South Australia, trying to trace my McGregors and other Scots who migrated to Canada and there you are chasing your own! Just ask specific questions about a person with as much detail as you can muster. I know Canadian records can be rather scattered and details of people's origin is often incorrect on the Census, so this is a good place to seek info.

Thanks for your welcoming message :)

Where should I post the question(s)?

Puzzling, eh?! Look under the Forums on the top left. Usually the General Family History Queries category gets you a response. Then a Moderator/Admin might shift your query to a more specific spot. Have fun- most people here are positive and encouraging, unlike some of the Social Media crowd.

Welcome aboard Allie, here you will find help, friendship and a bit of mischief when we go off-piste :D

Remember no question is a silly question, we’ve all had to start somewhere and we keep on learning. Have fun

Welcome @Allie :) Have a good rootle round and fret not if you post a question in the wrong place - we can always move it for you.

Take a minute to have a read of the rules here - it is easy to miss them in the thrill of the chase! :D

Good luck with your research!

welcome Allie you've chosen good place for help, we are a happy bunch who love to research on hereC|:-)

Welcome from another Ontarian! I don't have any McConville's in my tree but perhaps we can share some ideas that will help.

Yes that sounds great. Can I write out the last names in my tree here for you?
