Replies that quote more than one message

Is there a way to quote from more than one message in a reply, please?

I managed it by replying to one message with a quote, then copying it and pasting it into a reply that quoted a different one. But I did wonder if there was or might eventually be a better way. Please?

Just click the reply button belonging to each message you wish to include.
Like I have just done. :)

In a similar vein if you wishes to split a quote to allow interspersed comments simply cut and paste the
to end the quotation and the long string in square brackets starting [quote="Guy, post: 1136, member: 22" to begin the next section of quoted posting. (The bit in inverted commas will change according to who you are quoting)
Add your comments between the two sections.

Thanks, Mutters, Jan and Guy :)

Now I'm getting my head round it Top Dog is emerging as a very user friendly site...........and if I find it easy!!!!!!;)

If you wish to reply to the first message, move the cursor down to the end of the first message (after the first
) hit return and type away.

Then move the cursor down to the end of the second message (after the second
) and reply to that one.

Example of what your screen will look like before you post.

[ quote="Mutters, post: 1722, member: 4"]Just click the reply button belonging to each message you wish to include.[ /quote]
Type reply here
[ quote="Daft Bat, post: 1723, member: 2"]Like I have just done. :)[ /quote]
Type reply here

Or if you really want to show off. Try quoting a quote within a quote
Easy peasy then - never could get the hang of mulitple quotes B4 ;)
Like this?

And like this?

That's cool isn't it? Hate copy/paste this is much easier....:)
But I think that would just be showing off :D

Or even quote from a totally different thread altogether
Yes under the law of England and Wales the father of a child born in wedlock is automatically assumed to be the husband of the father unless it can be shown that he did not have "access" to the mother at the relevant time.
This in effect means he was overseas, in a different part of the country, in jail etc. so that he could not have been present when the child was conceived.

And if you click on the little arrow next to Guy's name it will take you to that thread.

UPDATE
Just discovered a better way of posting a link to an Album picture

You can even post a link to a picture within your 'User Album'
Chimp

I can't remember (he lied)

First of all I went to Mutters thread. can be found by following this rout :

Forums > New To Our Forum? > Finding Your Way & Rules >Forum Help Pages

I copied the location from the address bar at the top of the screen.

http://www.genealogy-specialists.com/threads/forum-help-pages.399/

I then came to this thread and wrote the first part
Did you know you can make a smilie a clickable link? :)
I added a smilie at the end. I highlighted the smilie and clicked on the 'Add a Link' icon (looks like 3 rings linked) and pasted in the link.
link.JPG
You can test the link works before replying to the thread by clicking 'More Options...' and 'More Options...' again and then 'Preview'

On the preview click on the smilie and it should take you to the thread.

You will have to click your 'Back' button to return to the thread.

Once you are satisfied click 'Reply to Thread'

Ha, just noticed you made your smilie (with the tongue poking out) a link to my other picture. Nice one.
