A very sad story of Joseph Perry Mahanay and Anna Rebecca Breeze on Find-a-grave.

Got my curiosity up (you knew you would), so I'm on my way to check this out... hanky in hand, just in case. ;)

Wow! Good catch that, Sue. Quite sad, but also very informative.

I have just read thru this thread that was actually started by my brother Joe Bean in early 2016 regarding our Grandfather Frank Kirby Bean. Fyi my brother Joe passed away on December 1st of last year.

To answer the question from Sue in February of 2016, Clara Bean Stacy was our Grandmother and her parents were in fact Anna Breeze and Joseph Perry Mahanay. Her brothers were Ora and Joseph Mahanay both buried in Lakewood Colorado. She married our Grandfather Frank Kirby Bean and had 4 sons, Frank Kirby Bean II, Ora Joseph Bean....my father, who changed his name to Joseph Ora Bean, Fred Bean, and John Gilbert Bean, who is still living and is in California.

Clara also married Elmo Parr in Denver who she divorced, then remarried and later married Art Stacy in Laramie Wyoming, divorced him then remarried him. He later died and my Grandmother Clara eventually moved to California where she died, but is buried in Lakewood Colorado with my Granddaughter Frank Kirby Bean, my Father Joseph Ora Bean, and my mother Marion Tyson Bean.

Any help tracing our Bean heritage beyond our Grandfather, Frank Kirby Bean would be appreciated. We have been able to trace our Grandmother Clara's Mahanay side of the family back to Ireland in the 1700's I believe.

Welcome, KABCS. Sorry to hear about Joe. My condolences to you and the rest of your family.

Thanks for the additional information. Every little bit helps.
I can't do research at the moment, but will take another stab at this later today.

There are 5 Frank K Bean obituaries from 12th to 15th May 1935 in the Rocky Mountain and Denver Post index at the Denver Public Library digital collection. Perhaps a clue there?

Not helpful going back, but interesting:
San Antonio Express, Friday, Oct 27, 1911
    GIANT RATTLESNAKE KILLED
Taylor Texas, Oct 26. While out hunting in the Yegua bottom, south of Taylor, yesterday Frank Bean, local plant foreman for Southwestern Telephone Company, shot and killed a giant rattlesnake of the diamond species. The monster measured six feet four inches in length and had fifteen rattles on his blunt, flat tail. Mr Bean will preserve the hide and have it and have it dressed for ornamental purposes and as a souvenir of his marksmanship and a trophy or the hunt.

Taylor is in Williamson County, NW of Austin.

I tried crawling through the Hays County, TX census for 1910. No luck in the 4 San Marcos districts or Kyle. I'm working my way backward through the precincts (from the bottom up), with nothing, and it's time to start supper. If I can get back to it later tonite, I will do that and report back.

I think you may be on to something here.....when I saw the name Dixie, it sparked a memory from when I was very young trying to create a family tree. I went down in my basement just now and dug out the book I used when I called my Grandma (Clara Mahanay Bean)....this is what she gave me. He husband was Frank Kirby Bean II.....his father was Frank Kirby Bean I and his mother was Dixie Lee ???? As I remember she had never met them so may not have actually known his middle name. There was some type of riff between my Grandfather Frank Kirby Bean I and his family. He would not discuss them nor have anything to do with them, so I'm told.

Thank you Joe Bean for starting this, although I don't think we are related. Here's my outdated entry in Find a Grave for Frank G Bean.

Note, just in case I'm suffering from "I've been doing this for too many hours" syndrome...this is Gilbert, son of Frank G (G as in Gilbert?). Not many pics here.

Hi and welcome, @lobitaroja (little red wolf/fox?) C|:-) Thank you for the info on Frank G. We have been researching Frank K with little success. Seems both have a Dixie - which further adds to the confusion (for me anyway - which these days doesn't take much). @KABCS is waiting for an obit that might shed some light.

If your Beans are from Massachusetts, I might be able to help you going back on that line. If so, we can start a new thread. Either way, we're glad you are here! :)
