Hi Paul, I have tried looking for Thomas in later censuses but have drawn a blank. He seems to play hide-n-seek very well I wondered if he moved away like his brother. I did find a marriage in Monmouthshire for a Thomas Hamer with father Edward but can't prove that it is him. For all it's worth, here's the marriage. Groom: Thomas Hamer, age 20 (b.1863), Bachelor, Occupation: Sinker, Address: Holly Bush Bride: Elizabeth Jane Saunders, age 17 (b.1866), Spinster, Address: Holly Bush Marriage: 14th April 1883, St Sannan, Bedwellty, Monmouthshire G/Father: Edward Hamer, Deceased B/Father: David Saunders, Collier 1st witness: David Saunders 2nd witness: Ruth Saunders I'm not sure when Thomas' father (Edward) died.
Many thanks for your help i was hoping that i might have found him and his family as my father was an only child and his father was an only son and it looked like that Thomas may have been the only other male line of our family..
I found a Thomas Hamer on page 20 of the following and am wondering if this may be him. http://swshas.org.uk/Journals/2010_SWSHASJournal.pdf
Also some great information in this piece , i do not think that it is part of my Hamer family but i wish it was ..https://familysearch.org/patron/v2/...74F58EB0699A426A2_idses-prod01.a.fsglobal.net
The Aaron Whiston of Knighton mentioned in the article ran the Crown Hotel in Broad street Knighton until his death on 14th December 1845. The daughters name was Hannah, she married William Weyman and they ran the Chandos Arms Hotel, High Street, Knighton.
Chimp could you help confirm for me that under the section"Note on Husband: William COLES - shared note" in the following page http://www.hoadly.co.uk/hoadly2/fam659.html the Charlotte and Edward are the forerunners of my family , thank you.
Ok We know that Edward Hamer Married Charlotte Price in Bishops Castle in 1858. Charlotte was living in Bishops Castle. On the image she says her father was David Price Charlotte died in 1870 aged 30. This would give a birth of c 1840. There is a baptism in Bishops Castle of a Charlotte Price with parents David and Jane on 1st February 1840. Jane Coles (a widow) married David Price (bachelor) in Snead, Mongomaryshire on 4th November 1839. So yes I would say this is your family
The William Coles mentioned on the page was baptised on 15th May 1829 in Bishops Castle . He was the son of Edward and Jane Coles. Edward Coles married Jane Bird on 20th September 1826 in Snead

Am trying to get confirmation of the Death of Edward Hamer , born 1833 at St Harmon, Radnorshire , i have been told an age upon death but find it very unlikely so am trying to find . thanks.
When Edward married Charlotte in 1858 he says his father is Edward Hamer a labourer. In the censuses he says he was born in St Harmon, Radnorshire in about 1833. There is a baptism for an Edward Hamer in St Harmon, Radnorshire on 29th April 1832. Parents Edward (labourer) & Margery (nee Morgan). They were living at Cwmnant S(?) can't make out the name of the place, you try Do you think he is yours?
