I know this is an old thread but did you get any further with this. The A2 in London is Old Kent Road and then Changes into New Cross Road by Deptford Ambulance Station. However looking on a map from 1888 the name changed much closer to Queens Road (going southish) at the crossroads with Besson Street and Hatcham Park Road. There are a number of Drinking / Eating establishments in that area now but none I could find with the right name Hmm another 1880's map has the road name change in the same location as the modern maps. I wonder if the section of road was called both names at different times, which could explain the different roads in the documents
