Has anyone actually seen it on the big screen? I was going to try and get to one of the screenings, but decided to wait for Remembrance Day. Seemed more fitting, somehow.
I cannot say it was an easy watch, but the words of those who served, so matter of fact, at why they enlisted and their acceptance that they may not be coming home was just astonishing. It was the brutal honesty of those words which made it compelling viewing.
It was harder to watch than I thought it would be. Perhaps, having attended a remembrance service earlier in the day, I was already feeling a bit emotional. However, incredibly well done. (Was anyone else looking for Grandad...?)
For me, two words summed this up and these two words shouldn't really beside by side. Brilliant & Horrific
it was very well done even had some amusing bits but must admit I missed bits had to shut my eyes or look through my fingers …….such brave men I feel very humble
A riveting watch although horrific - very brave men. Did anyone also see WW1 Shell Shock Shame - another horrific but brilliant programme
