1939- blacked out as too young? or new child?

1939 has my 3rs cousin x 1 rem'd with her Husband in Chelmsford. Amy Ashby b. 1891 hubby Frank b. 1889. Their only remaining child ( known to me), was born in Sep. Q 1922 in Chelsea, making him probably 16-17yrs.

He was killed in Brussells 16 Dec. 1944 -"Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve".
Would his names still be unreadable at this time?

I have seen much younger children named.

Would I be just amusing myself to ask for this line to be opened giving just the commemorative certificate of war death as legal proof 'or overseas equivalent' to send to FMP?

 

This is what FMP say Wendy.

"You will need to provide evidence that the individual has passed away and we can only accept a copy of an official death certificate (issued by the General Register Office or overseas equivalent) so please ensure you have this document before proceeding. If we do not receive this valid proof of death, we will be unable to proceed with a search."

National Archives say the same.

 

My uncle was killed at El Alemein in 1942 and his entry is not redacted, so your RAF lad should be an open entry too - perhaps it is another child (or a grandchild?)

 

I went for it Anne, & sent PDF of Commerative certificate from CWG- Brussells
which gives his death & parents names. Either they will or they won't. perhaps there hadn't been anyone to query it earlier. Father died 1945 Essex , Mother 1974 Braintree, Essex. I'm hoping death & burial 16 Dec.,Schoonselhof Cemetery V.D. 39 Belgium will suffice. If not don't look for updates on this post.
Earlier child b. 1920 also died 1920 Chelsea. Not found another child to this couple.
