The story I heard is that he had 3 kids with wife number 1. Wife number 2 was the governess for those 3. Wife number 1 passed away. Number 2 birthed the other 5. Once the first 3 grew up and left, that's when number 2 became WIFE number 2 which then legitimized the other 5. Not sure how true that is but that's the "story".

SUPER!! Lots of stories in the Islands.......the men usually came out without their wives to the tropics, so you know how the "boys will play", lol.

Good lord......8 kids? I am missing a couple!! :D But I think Jose Angel Figueroa has your Cookes beaten. 10 kids in 10 years with 5 different women.....only one wife. :p Plus his father had 3 "wives" and a few assorted children.....confusion reigns at times.

For our Aussie friends, I could use some help with tracking down Alec and Clare Feurtado. They moved out their for his job with Pan Am back in the 70s. They had a few kids and I would love to get back in touch with my cousins.

Still working on that. The original Raymond McIntosh relative that started this hunt just called me 2 weeks ago and said he had info on him, but my computer is acting up and I can't open his attachments with regard to Wilkin Cooper until I get this machine fixed. I will let you know........are you related?

I am indeed, and I'm also related to Raymond (though we've never met, but we did play phone tag recently).

I've never used this site before, but I will try to figure out how to share my email address with you. I would love to know more, and I've enjoyed reading your posts in this thread! Keep up the great work :)
