Hubby happily announced this week that he is going on a weeks fishing holiday to France with the guys (fishing widow again), I decided that anything he can do..... so I am now booked into a lovely b&b in Cornwall and I can go rellie hunting to my little hearts content. Soooooooo excited, now just got to find my family tree stuff which is still in a box following our move. Woo hoo bring on next July.
That sounds good to me. Wish I could join you looking for my lot in Cornwall, but it’s tooooo far. By the way, I see you are in Derbyshire. Can you swim? Hope you are on high ground.
Sue, we havent been affected by the rains where we are but do feel for those that have. Although my Cornish trip is going to be centered around the Truro/ St. Agnes way, if there is anything I can help/ look for you just let me know
Ooo, that’s interesting, my great grandfather was born in St Agnes in 1863. John Nancarrow, his mother was Jane Trevithic, believed to be related to Richard Trevithic, somehow!!! But the connection is hard to follow.
Ooh I have Nancarrow in my tree. My 3x gt. Grandmother was Sarah Nancarrow and she married William Cock. Sue, honestly if you want me to do any look ups, grave hunting etc just message me details as I will be doing all that whilst there, especially looking forward to the grave hunting followed by a pub lunch
Done the correct way of course but for me I am a Devon girl with Cornish roots - confused.com luckily I will always obey the Cornish way
Hello Mark, how lovely to see you, long time no hear....... I’ll forgive you for that comment - but only ‘cause it’s you
I am still plodding on Ann I love Devon - spend a couple of weeks every year up in the Ilfracombe/Combe Martin area - and make all my cream teas the "proper" way to confuse the holidaymakers!
Well, bit of contention here. John was baptised at Treleigh, his parents were married in 1855 parish of Gwinnear. His marriage says he was born in Gwinnear but my grandmothers birth certificate says he was born in St Agnes. No Sarah’s as far as I know.
