My mother's probate was granted in 2 months earlier this year. Out of curiosity I ordered her will and probate for £1.50 and received them pretty quick.( My mother had a copy of her will when she made it.) Strange to think that if somebody wanted details that they could have a copy so soon after her death but we aren't allowed to see a census unless it is 100 years old.
I think they’ve lost the plot - tagged on to one of my wills (due date 12th August) was someone else’s will. So if anyone wants the will of Cicilia Levine of Wembley.......
Well! Ordered some wills on 8th October. Two of them showed due date of 10th October. These two have arrived today. I must admit they are both very recent and probably already digitised but even so it was a bit of a shock to get them so quickly.
Well, I'm still waiting for one, ordered on the 28th July The others have arrived in dribs and drabs over the past couple of weeks.
I was probably a little over-optimistic when I started receiving my notifications... there is still one outstanding from that order period - and the later ones are still in the queue somewhere. Of those delivered yesterday, I had ordered one previously and forgotten (at full price) but my OH's 2nd g-grandfather's one in particular was a goodie. Pages thick as he named all sorts of people as beneficiaries. This was the chap who made his fortune, believe it or not, in night soil.
well I go away for a few days come back to them saying they cant find one ordered back in August so no refund only 1,50 so not worried but to check probate list and reorder will have to pay again! but I did it off their list and form and goodness knows how long to wait again have emailed but it takes them ages to answer queries oh well deep breath think nice thoughts
