I am afraid I am one of the people who rarely uses the "like" button. More often than not I am reading without signing in, only doing so when I feel I have something to contribute to a discussion. Similarly with birthdays, I miss many and only make the effort for someone I feel familiar with.
So my apologies to anyone who feels left out. And to you Jane, my very biggest {-(^^)-}which I hope expresses how much you are appreciated.

I'm an unabashed member of the Huncamunca Fan Club. :D That said, it's difficult to be consistent with the distribution of Likes and comments, especially when checking in during stolen moments from other, less happy pursuits. I consider everyone here a "genealogy buddy." No mean-spirited snarking at all. Just one big {-(^^)-}. Sorry no Griffin help from here, though.

I also am a great fan as she is such a great help to so many people on TD. Huncamunca you have helped me many times but I also don't sign in so can't hit the like button as much as I would like.

Does anyone know of the Griffin/Brown family from the Peckham area? Thank you very much and have a lovely evening.

Hi Pauline, do any of my Griffins appeal to you? I've followed them for so long & finally matched up what Jane found in # 11 & #13. I followed this family to New Zealand after I found a DNA matched cousin there. :) Was able to prove the relationship for her plus another cousin found there a few years before.
I have Brown families in Bermondsey, Finchley, Plumstead, Nottingham, N.Zealand. Likewise Griffins.

Do you have a particular date for them?

Wendy, sorry to go totally off topic here, but having seen the incredibly God-awful weather in SA (incl Adelaide) I have to ask if you are OK? Take care and stay cool. Thinking of you - and all the other Aussie members who are in potential fire and unusual heat zones. XX

Philippa, lovely of you to ask,- I think pre-reports were scaryer than eventualities-['owsat for a big word eh'] we stayed inside with air conitioner on very low. I did go out but when I saw my petunias & parts of Son's veg.garden. hurried back in. Kitties on enforced indoor- not impressed. Hot air does it all in. Only got to 42 today where we are hot winds- nasty. So grateful for all of our firies & emergency persons. Amazing that some folk can leave 3ft high dry grass in their yards !

Good to hear you are OK (should I add -ish?). For once Canberra isn't in the direct line for these awful eventualities (it's catching, this big word thing). I'm not getting complacent, though, because it only takes a hiccup of nature and we are all in the same boat yet again. Tomorrow for us is supposed to be 39 degrees. I have to go out in the morning to meet up with (dare I say it) a lovely YOUNGER married man (sigh) but I'll be home in the house where it's cool before the worst of the heat arrives. Fingers crossed this is as bad as it gets for everyone and that a cooler front will arrive and relieve our wonderful firies and the people they are protecting. Stay safe.

    Good morning!!

Now that I know all is well I'll get off your road, remove my detour sign, and leave you to resume your search for the elusive Griffins.

    Good luck!!

I am trying to work out my family tree but it's difficult because I'm adopted. But I found out from a DNA match that besides Griffin I'm also related to the surname Brown. I checked on one of my DNA sites and the search confirmed 507 matches, either the surname or the name in their trees! I don't know anything about them but saw your extremely interesting post. Seems strange I have more results with that name than Griffin. I have a lot of research to do.

There are now several FBook groups helping with Adoptees also Search Angels UK. I have just spent most of today with the Griffin Family in Auckland learning even more, including the correct name of one of the original ladies to come up in searches.

This started a I searched forthe mother of another 'Myrtle Brown' who I had as a wife to a 2nd cousin of mine in London areas. Still unsure of her but I've learned so much more on my little side trip.

Lovely avatar by the way. ;)

If I can help at all with your 'lot' do say. I also have Newmans in Bermondsey Southwark & Hertfordshire, plus one lady as yet unkown who married a 4th Cousin in 1940 Southwark.

Me too I want to be part of the Huncamunca Fan Club and I'm not making excuses but my short coming is often finding the right words in all of this.
