Ah, but you're a quick learner!
Although the writing was not good, it was a doddle after what I just did,
went through the Register of Burials for St Giles in the Fields from 1586 to
1614 because I do not wholly trust Anc indexing! :)

From what I can understand, and if it's the right one, Paradise Place was just behind Ravenscourt Park tube. It's a little distance from Fulham Road, which is very long

I have now received the certificate for James Thomas Brooks. His father was Henry, a labourer, and his mother was Eliza formerly Lock. They lived at Robert Street, Brixton at the time.

So they Henry part fits with Charlotte's dad, but not the mother.
Does anyone have any ideas on finding the parent's marriage?

Firstly though, how sure are we that the mc to Martha is the right James' marriage?

The children have the mmn Maidman. It being an unusual name, and they married 10 months before the birth of the first child, all in Fulham

Well, the reason I am following this line is because DNA matches point to an unknown line in my Lock family of Lambeth, which could help me with a brick wall. This is what makes me fairly sure, plus the fact that the birth year fits with the workhouse record, and there are very few with the middle name of Thomas

Is this a coincidence? The only Henry Brooks/ Eliza Lock marriage I can find is the one Wendy found in post 10. How does that work with Charlotte? Perhaps the relationship description of Norah being a niece of Charlotte is totally accurate, maybe she's a daughter of a cousin or something.
