Daughter is going to bring some over tomorrow, hopefully, and leave it on the doorstep. Something to look forward to.
Our shelves are still bare here. Hubby went shopping yesterday for us.. A lot of people not respecting the distance of 6 feet either. He got 3 small pkgs of chicken thighs and the lady said..limit is 2 ( there wasn't any signs...) then she said she would have to throw the 3rd one out as it can't go back in the cooler. He said you may as well give it to me then...she still charged him for it.! We didn't need TP but he looked' as I did need paper towels..3 stores that he was in and none to be seen Like one of the above people said, I have seen photos of stuff being thrown out as well. There was some fresh veggies, but he didn't buy much as he was leary about who may have handled them. I nearly flipped..he paid $8.00 for a bag of frozen brussel sprouts. He did manage to buy a bag of flour..no yeast..but I did find a pkg. in the cupboard that expired in 2019. I will give it a try as I am craving hot cross buns! As one of you also said... I can't help but wonder if some of the hoarders even know how to use this stuff! What he bought will have to last us a month... he did get some frozen fruit and bottled juice and maybe in a month my rhubarb will be ready. We also have alfalfa in a field and soon it will be shooting up and it is even better than spinach if you get the tops when it is young. Not quite time to plant the garden yet, but will soon be at that as well. Like many of you, I will miss spending Easter with my family... they live too far away to drop off a care pkg. We're not supposed to travel out of the Grey/Bruce counties area.
I've just bought 4 can's of lager and yes it's an essential, I have been in my own company for over a week .....I need something stronger
Latest on toilet rolls In Gloucestershire the Water Company are saying they are having far more callouts for blocked pipes -due to people using kitchen towels and other unsuitable items instead of toilet paper. But our local supermarket had them today, thank goodness. My first trip out after a week of self isolation with the other half-we both had colds Nice to be allowed out again.
You need to get 'Plenty' kitchen roll, you can ring it out and use it again (Well someone had to lower the tone and it falls the lowest denominator )
Old joke... Q - What's worse than biting into an apple and finding a maggot? A - Biting into an apple and finding half a maggot
You're never alone when you're a Top Dog, Chimp. By the way, I see it's your birthday. MANY HAPPY RETURNS ... but are you sure about the date? Shouldn't it be the 1st of April? Jane
In Australia it is cruise season, or just the end of it. Numerous cruise ships come here for our season. We have had 7 ships floating around out there on the sea off Sydney full of infected passengers. One of those ships is the one we were supposed to travel on in November (not happening now, or ever ). In January our son applied for a position with the company that owns that and many other ships. Out of around two hundred applicants he was one of two who made it through to the final decision. He missed out but he dodged one big bullet. Never seen a happier person for missing out on a great job. Travelling back and forth to Guatemala, with his good fortune he missed being stuck there indefinitely.
We had to drop pup off at the boarding kennel earlier. The poor owner is so worried as she only had 3 dogs and 1 cat to care for. Archie was quite happy to patter away with her. I think he secretly likes going there. Times are really tough for places like that. Apart from the fact that I really like this kennel, I have no idea what will happen if all these places have to close forever. It’s so very sad when people have worked so hard to build up a successful and trustful business to have it ripped away.
My friend is in the same boat, Sue. Re-opened her cattery and kennels two months ago after a big expensive refurb adding more facilities and doubling her capacity, having promised all her clients she would be back up and running in time for Easter and summer holidays. Nothing coming in.
There are places where I wouldn’t leave a rat but this kennel is wonderful. The girls, who work there have had to be let go. I have no idea why because he’s a $&**#@ of a dog but they just love him and find excuses to play with him. I just cross my fingers that it will all work out well for them in the end. They know dogs as they breed and show border collies and have a good name with the kennel club. Plus they have horses as well and the kennel dogs love watching them.
