Only a very small proportion wear face masks here. They are in extremely short supply and needed by hospitals. We have been so lucky here so far. I’m very happy to live on an island. Albeit a big one. We have had 65 deaths over here.

I am down to my last box of face masks I am supplied themby my supplier of Dialysis products and I have just been advised that my current delivery which should have included another box was now back ordered.

My nurse at the Dialysis Clinic has advised that as Hillary are in seclusion, it is safe for use to make one face mask last 7 days.

Maybe things will change in either May or June.

Could probably buy online but I don’t do bread very often, just when the mood takes me. I have a bread maker for such times. We have a flour mill up the road a bit but I don’t think they sell to the public. We often, or used to when we were allowed out in public, drive over there for a coffee (nice little township) it has good trains filling up with flour and canola oil, of which they also process but the spilled flour on the train tracks is criminal. Perhaps we should take a shovel and scape it up. Should make a tasty loaf of bread.

The medical masks and all the PPE are in short supply in the US. We are encouraged to create our own homemade masks. Numerous tutorials are online, many endorsed by the medico's.

Chocolates good, but I haven’t got any. Gardening done for the day, walked the dog but he had to have a bath first as he was a bit embarrassed to be seen grubby, took in the view of the hills, a nice chat to neighbour down the hill, done some eating, had a snooze. How we would love to get in the car and drive. Such a simple pleasure but sadly not allowed. But I guess we aren’t the only ones. I think the rot is setting in.....

Got my bread mix. There was even some flour on the shelves today. Not the good brand just the generic.

Yay! We’re are allowed to break free from Friday. Just a visit from or to another couple as long as we don’t get any closer that 1.5 metres. So looking forward to sharing a coffee with some good friends.
Then a visit to our grandchildren the week after...... 8(:-)

Not sure what is going to happen here, they say the deaths are dropping in hospitals in Britain but it's only just starting to hit our area. I'm worried that they may lift the lockdown because the threat has lessened in London just at the time it's really starting to hit around here. We have been lucky'ish up till now.

We have just one with it in our local government area but yes, we still have to be careful. We have to travel down to Penrith (western suburb of Sydney at the foot of the Blue Mountains) for a specialists visit that can’t be done remotely and that area has now broken out. 11 deaths there in a nursing home. So I’m a little worried but we will be out of the car into the surgery and back to the car and pop in to see the grandkids on the way home. At a distance but at least I can see their lovely faces. In person.

People have been surfing and others have been rescued from the sea.
The RNLI and police have advised against people taking part in water based activities to reduce the risk of emergency services workers being exposed to COVID-19.

To date we have 88 deaths in Australia but deaths in the nursing home in Penrith now has risen to 12. It’s so sad for the residents there. They are so frightened and isolated with no visitors to consol them.
We broke out earlier today and took ourselves to the skin shop to get some sheepskin boots (ugg boots) as we expect some early snow on Friday. I digress.

You must be doing something right over there, we are on 21,678 deaths.

    U.k. population 67,886,011
    Aus population 25,499,884

If you compare the rates of death and apply the U.K.% of population to die and apply it to Australia you would have 8143 deaths
