No, not a baby!!! But, my baby girl .... She is finally finished all her cancer treatments . It's been a long go, but she has remained so positive and kept her happy disposition. She has kept her spirits up in front of her 3 little kids and her hubby. I am so proud of her. Nearly 4 months of chemo, a mastectomy and then 2 months of radiation. Her body has been through so much. I am also proud of both her brothers who took time away from work and their lives half way across the country to each come and help her out for a couple of weeks. I also have a message for all ladies.... breast cancer does not only show up as a lump. She had triple negative inflammatory breast cancer which shows itself as an inflamed area on the breast and in the lymph nodes... A rare, fast advancing cancer that thankfully appears to have been caught in time. Get yourself checked whenever something isn't right.
Great news Sue. My wife's breast cancer took some finding, a mammogram and a scan failed to identify it, it took a biopsy to finally call it cancer. I wish we had the foresight to have June a MR scan once in a while, June might still be here today, it would have probably cost us a bit but be worth it. I would say to anyone if you have any doubts, go for the best test/scan you can afford, better safe than sorry.
So sorry Derek.. We are thankful they persisted... the first mammogram and biopsy didn't show anything for her either, but they still knew something wasn't right. Thankfully here in Canada these tests are all covered with our provincial medial insurance. Also, thankfully she has great insurance coverage through her job and that helped pay for the necessary drugs for her treatment.
Didn't she do well! So pleased for you and your family- it must be a wonderful feeling to have got through it.
Good news Sue! So sorry for your loss, Derek. Have my own family members that have won or lost the fight. Either way, it's never easy. Hugs to you both.
What fantastic news Sue So pleased for your daughter and her family . Well done to your boys on being so supportive and caring . Big hugs to you all
Wow!! Awesome news! And didn't she do well sticking it through all the extremely unpleasant treatment! So brave!
