Today I learnt that my nans oldest and best friend has passed away. Alice was a wonderful woman, funny, warm and a genuinely beautiful person. Although I am incredibly upset it is hard to not smile as she was 10 days short of her 107th birthday. Alice and my nan met when they were 14 years old and they had both started their first jobs. Every time I saw Alice I had a history lesson as she had experienced so much. Remembering watching the soldiers marching back from the First World War was one of her favourite and earliest memories. Then listening to stories of what her and Nan got up to was also lovely as I got a glimpse of my nan as a young woman - can see where I get my mischievous streak from So rest well Alice and I hope you and nan are causing mischief again
May she rest in peace. She sounds a most wonderful lady, who has enriched your life so much. The grief will end, but the beautiful memories will remain
107 what sights she must have seen and so many memories and how wonderful she could pass some on to you so you will have such memories of her
Sorry to hear about Alice, Liane, but she enjoyed a wonderful life, with your nan as best friend. They both will still be watching you, so be good! Stay safe, as we are here in Victoria. Wendy & Dave
