A lovely bit of news and am so happy for you both. It has really helped me to realize that maybe, just maybe there is a point to it all. Good luck to all with health issues and hopefully God will help you along the way.
Here she is...not my photo though. Isnt she magnificent? She has the help, if needed for safety reasons, of a diesel loco. Cause she's a real old girl.
Its not like we are travelling too far. Just a local one. Orange to Blayney and back. If we had been a bit more organised we could have done Orange to Dubbo via Parkes and back but we left our run too late. It was a surprise for my sister who is a 3801 member and train freak (worse than me) but her hubby is not well with high BP and has to stay close to home (Ulladulla). We were able to get another couple to take their place. It was going to be a nod to our Dad but I guess that wont change. We still have his work diaries with 3801 entries on its boiler inspections. The train has been off the tracks for over 10 years but now they have been able to get another boiler made so she's back with a new coat of paint as well. All the work on her done by volunteers.
I have a feeling I've seen this train in action many years ago, not sure where, has it been down to the Illawarra?
She’s been everywhere but not for a while. She’s had a rebuild and now back in all her glory. I’m sure she will be down that way before too long. If so go have look or better than that, a little ride on her. We did it today but as there is no turntable up this way anymore we had to be hauled back to Orange by the diesel. The chuff chuff noise she makes is special.
