Just an update, recovery proceeding well, the swelling on my lips and face is going down, whereas when I came out of hospital, from a side view, I looked more like a Chimpanzee than Chimp, I now look less like a Chimpanzee. My left leg is now more dependable to stand and walk with but I'm still treating it with respect. Not quite up to eating solid stuff yet but desperately hoping to get there soon. Considering purchasing one of those fancy walking sticks I've noticed on the web if I can pay by PayPal, for security, having a stick might speed up the process of walking somewhat, pride will take a dent though. Now i have to find out where I'm up to with Genealogy, got a vague idea.
Thanks for the update, Derek. A walking stick will be a big help, especially going up and down steps, and in wide open spaces. I'm sure it will make you look more distinguished and debonair.
I have a collapsible walking stick and find it invaluable. I can pop it in my bag and just bring it out if/when I need it - going up steep hills is usually the culprit.
