have traced my patronimic surname back to Gamlingay in Cambridgeshire ( 1700,s) and before that to Southill in Bedfordshire ( 1600,s) but of course branches seemed to wander of in all directions .They were also Baptists from early on and did not believe in infant baptism so that does make things a bit difficult .
