Thank you for telling me so much of your work, that's very helpful. I never thought before that George 1818 and John were the same person. That's partly what was making me doubt that I was mixing up the families, as I found nothing for George's baptism. If they were twins they would both be there. And that explains Alfred from post number 16.
George 1818 seemed to go backwards and forwards between London and Norfolk. That was partly why I found looking at the right George difficult. Also because I am descended through his daughter Rebecca who only lived to age 26, not much to go on.
I'll have to start looking at George senior now I know a little more

Hello again, can I ask how you know that George who married Elizabeth Ann Nobbs was the same one who married Mary Ann Goodman?
As far as I can see, in 1841 George and Mary were in different houses with their children, although close by. I haven't found any of the 2 families mingling so far.

Thank you, I missed Mary and George Goodman on the original, they did not appear as of the same household on the Ancestry transcript (must look harder). There is another Elizabeth Goodman living with Mary in 1841, the same age as the one living with George! Could that possibly be the same one?
aren't these Mary's children though given their ages?

Charles and Albert are Mary's children but by George, whereas the others are by her previous husband Stephen Goodman.I only have Elizabeth Goodman living with George.

Just rechecked 1841 census on Mary.I see the transcript says Elizabeth Goodman was there as you say.I have gone by the original documents.I will have to double check this.I can't do this at the moment as I haven't renewed my membership yet. When I do I'll let you know.If it is the case I would say they are definitely the same Elizabeth.
Have you got all the info on your George and Sarah Dye Kettle. (Births, burials, census etc)

Thanks very much for sending the copy. I must have missed it off when I rewrote my forms.Hope I haven't missed any more!Did you want anything on your George's' siblings. Also I do go further on George if you want any help.It took a long, long time to get his baptism and his siblings. This has been verified by the only other person that I know that has got this far.He has been working on it a longer than me.Thanks again.

I bet it did, it's very confusing, and it requires more than the usual . I'm very grateful that you are willing to share it.
I have all the censuses and the ref of George 1818's marriages and death thanks. If you have found him in anything else I would love to know.
I wonder if you have found brother James 1820 and his wife Ann after 1841?

I have found all the births, marriages, deaths and census details on all 8 siblings and their wives with the exception of the death of Alfred's wife Susanna and anything after 1841on James William.I presume the Ann you refer to is Ann Goodfellow and marriage to a James Sexton on 24Jun1841at Bermondsey.I had a couple of options on a marriage with a William James Sexton in Mar Qtr 1849 Shoreditch and 2 death s at St Olives, Southwark in Mar Qtr 1842 and Dec Qtr 1848 also in same parish.I cannot find anything relevant on the 1851 census or even 1861.Do you have any more details on the marriage you refer to ( ie fathers name).I didn't get any further with James as I would have had to purchase several certificates and I had left it at the time as I had just spent a load on other certificates! Hope you can help on this and also on Susanna ' death. If not, perhaps I will have to invest in getting the marriage certificate if I can get the G.R.O ref.I assume there aren't any parish records available online for Southwark or Bermondsey. Thanks

The marriage of James Sexton and Ann Goodfellow is on Ancestry London marriages and banns
At St James, Bermondsey, 24th June 1841
James Sexton, full age, bachelor, shoemaker, living St Saviours, Southwark, father George Sexton, shoemaker
Ann Goodfellow, full age, spinster, living St Saviours, father William Goodfellow, dead.
He wrote his name, she left her mark. Witnesses William George Birds or Birch and Joseph Lohuler?

The other marriage is not on the parish registers that I can see, but the above looks good to me. Although there is a William James Sexton and Ann who live in Wells, Norfolk of the right age.
Did Alfred go to Croydon? There is a Rosa M with mother Susannah Sexton, a married dressmaker. An Alfred is also in Croydon alone but married, a licensed victualler until 1891. I thought he was a coachman in 1861. There's a Susannah death in Greenwich, birth 1822 death 1909. A bit far I know?

Thanks so much for the info on Ann Goodfellow''s marriage.Looks spot on.Alfred did go to Croydon. In 1881he was with a wife named Louisa b London1824.As you say,in 1881he was on his own at the Palmers Inn,Croydon. In 1901 he had moved to The Red Lion Inn,Kingsbury,Aylesbury,Bucks where he was a ostler - groom servant to publican Charles J Goddard. He died 9 Dec 1902 in Aylesbury.Cannot find any marriage to a Louisa during that period.I assume Susanna must have died between 1871 and 1881 unless Susanna is now known as Louisa! Can find no record of deaths of Susanna or even Louisa Sexton.I wouldn't think that Alfred had actually married Louisa. Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you get Susannah from the 16th Oct 1849 marriage to Susannah Matthews in City of London? What is his father George's occupation, is it actually shoemaker? Screen Shot 2016-03-21 at 19.27.42.png

In 1891 he is alone at " The Palmiston" pub in Croydon and married. Have you managed to find their daughter Rose anywhere else after 1861? Otherwise that might be her in 1871 with Susanna

Well I'm getting nowhere at the moment. I haven't been able to find what you found in 1881 and 1901. I wondered if they might be at Pawson Road? I can't find anything else on Rose/ Rosa M either

1881 Alfred was at Temple Villas,Croydon age 56 withLouisa.Think he was transcribed as Lexton. Can you help with birth and death of Ann Sexton (Goodfellow)and death of James and any census from 1851.Possible death of James in St Olives, Southwark Dec qtr 1848.They seemed to have disappeared.Susanna's death is also a mystery.Thanks.
