Can anyone tell me what this occupation is please? She is an Inspector wireless of ..'electrica...' ? This entry has "see page 23" written before & after. Does anyone know if there is an index to these notations?

Also same Family, a young woman listed as 's' for single but using name of the man she married in 1943 just a dash above the name. Any reason why that may be so?

In addition, the above single young lady using future husband's name was b. 1922 Possibly a brother b. 1920 is apparently blanked out below parents lines. She died in 1997 Sth'end.on Sea. Brother may have died in 1970.

Thank you both, the very last word is not entirely there I think, or covered with a light tape.'Credit' comes to mind but back then??
Pretty close I think Sue or maybe wireless license card?
These registration records at times open up more puzzles than answers. :(

I think it's "wireless & electrical (circuits?)", possibly referring to the fact she worked in a facility producing radios (as we now call them) and other electrical goods, most likely for the domestic market.

And, I suspect, she may have worked at Plessey's in Ley Street/Vicarage Lane, Ilford, the history of which can be found at

I used to go to school in Ley Street, so passed by the building (long since demolished) every day.
