    Can anyone find Isaac Lambert.

Isaac Lambert is married to Susannah.

Isaac and Susannah on previous censuses say they were born 1880. Isaac in Tipton, Susannah in Hanley, both in staffordshire.

Susannah dies in 1947, Isaac in 1960, both deaths registered in Stoke on Trent.

In 1911 Isaac is a grave digger.

YOB was widened to ±5, variations on forename and surname selected with nothing specified as to where he was living. This brought just one hit, a fruit and veg salesman living in Leeds, and he was married to someone called Marian. Nothing obvious when the search was changed to Susan/Susannah.:(

I've tried everything I can think of but with no luck :( I've had the same problem with a family I'm looking for - they seem to have disappeared into a black hole in 1939.

Looks like Mary married James O'Donnell in 1923. She must be the Sarah A on the 1911 census.

I now know why I couldn’t find this particular couple - they had both died by 1939 :( I really should have made sure they hadn’t died before I tried to track them down, but they were quite young. However, I think I may have another ‘lost’ in 1939 ........ but that will have to wait until tomorrow.

Thank you Ma, they just don't want to be found. Didn't realise how the year of birth dates on the 39 register could be so out.

Working on the earlier ones as well:- Henry,1891 Chesterfield- John Thomas, also 1891 Northwich ?? & Leonard 1892 -Chesterfield. Some may belong to Herbert & Annie Longden. 1901 shows :-
    1901
John Longden-Age: 41: Macclesfield, Cheshire, England
    Civil Parish: Burslem
    Agnes Longden 29 -Hanley, Staffs
    John T Longden 10- Cheshire
    William Longden 5 -cheshire
    Ernest Longden 1-Tunstall
    RG13; Piece: 2593; Folio: 12; Page:
It seems they spread out a bit. If John & Agnes went travelling other than for work, they were back by 1947, albeit in another county.

No luck here either. As for dates of birth being out on the 1939 Register - I am amazed at how many people I am researching in one particular family, have a totally or partially different DOB to that found either via certificates or parish register baptisms, some being days out and others being anything between one and three years out o_O

Indeed, Ann - my (great) uncle Charlie is 1894 instead of 1891, but correct day and month.

Agnes must be there somewhere, in some shape or form. (To find a mistranscription, one must think like a mistranscription... :sceptical:)

It does make you wonder if all these people really did live their lives under the assumption that they were born in a certain year, whereas they were really older or younger than they thought - or was it poor gathering of information :reading:
