I caught an episode late last night but tonight's is on at 21:00. It was fascinating.
Yes, it is the last in the series tonight and has been excellent throughout.
I am sure that it will soon be available on the BBC i-player, if not already.
Thanks for the reminder.
All of those three programs about the three houses were good. Hope he makes some more.Personally seing him drinking outside the ostrich (which was just round the corner from the house), brought back memories of 55 years ago drinking scrumpy there , sitting on old coach seats in the bar and getting a local to play the spoons-bit different now as I went there a couple of years ago
The next series is going to be set in Leeds, according to West Yorkshire Archive Service.
Looking forward to that one.
Me too - I did my degree at Bristol when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
Makes you wonder what is the starting point to find 'the house'? Do they just pick several old addresses and see where it leads them....
There was an article in Radio Times a week or two ago. Apparently they start with about 200 houses that look interesting (some of the team just walk around the chosen city), then do some research on them all, narrowing as they go. At a fairly early stage they ask the occupiers if they would co-operate in having their home invaded by a film crew, which knocks some out, of course. They end up with six candidates houses, all of which would make a suitable series. At that point they have lost all objectivity, so they ask the BBC to pick which one they want. It's amazing to think of, isn't it?
Next time will be Leeds and they asked near the closing credits for suggestions by the public, for any interesting houses.
Thanks Barley Shame they don't do two series a year as it is an interesting programme.
