If someone could please check on FMP to verify or decry this marriage it may help me to Not make another long enquiring post about a member of my 'Phillips' family. I've tried Anc., Family Search.

Name: William Meek Simpson [not the William in Cookham, Berkshire , 1939]
    Gender: Male
    Marriage Age: 24
    Birth Date: abt 1894
Marriage Place: Braintree, St. Michael The Archangel, Essex, England
    Marriage Date: 26 Jan 1918
    Father: John Simpson
Spouse: Kate Elizabeth Phillips [ b. Lowe, a tich before pts marriage]

Her father listed as 'Thomas' in one collection. I really don't want that to be but if there are witnesses shown it may help me to accept this one if wit's are family members.
    .....
I have not found aman with this 2nd name anywhere before or since. Both seem to have come from Custom House.
My Kate is found with family in RG14 1911 piece 9535 16 Frederick Rd, Custom House Essex.
    ..............
If this is not my girl, this post may be the fore-runner of another plea for help.
Thank you for reading this. :reading:

There is only a transcript on FMP. Kate was a spinster, ther father Thomas was a Licensed Victualler. No witnesses mentioned in the transcript.

Thank you Chimp. I did consider going to ERO but I have 3 subs or FH organizations to cough up for this month so that little $36+ for one day is a bit much when I have so many call away from comp.
I may get to it later. Meantime I will begin another Phillips poll. ;)

Anyone know if a marriage cert. from Essex will be informative?

p.s. my Kate's father 'George' was then a dock labourer.-1911

Terrific, thanks Chimp, they do give all info I'd expect.
One thing tho'. on the civil marriage list in Ancestry the marriage I quote has Kate 'M', & above that is Kate 'E'. so I suspect someone transcribed a round about way although the one listed at St. Michaels does say Kate 'E'.

I am now going all through the little info I had before posting my plea.o_O

Annie, thank you so much, these names are so unfamiliar to me, so I think I've had the wrong Kate Elizabeth Phillips all along. This complies with wat Chimp found re her father being a 'victualler'
Not getting much further here, in tracing her down. I may just let her rest as all of her sibs are easliy traceable, but she remains a mystery. Thanks all for looking.

Wendy, I think I am correct in saying she is Kate Eliza, not Kate Elizabeth, and that she married a Patrick O'Leary on 20 Feb 1922 at Custom House, Victoria Docks, Essex. One of the witnesses was a M. A. A. Hedger who I think is her sister Mary Ann Amelia who married William Hedger in 1917.

Kate is listed as Kate Eliza Emily LOWE and doesn't name a father. She gives her age as 28, so a couple of years out, but maybe she wanted to look older as her spouse was 43

    We can chat ;)

    Annie you amazing woman!! :){-(^^)-}

I had seen a similar name come up after looking for Kate's birth as 'Lowe' but skimmed past think it another coincidence. Some times I need a slap on the wrist. I do use 3hrs sleep the night before in my defence. [It's wearing a bit thin tho' as used so often].
Thank you so much, I did fret abit thinking I must leaver her undone.

Well, a tich sad now. I was looking through Anc. records for Patrick O' Leary, came upon several photos of an older chap, one who married in 1848 to a much younger bride, so I checked deaths for Kate- as one does- so I'm just a tich sad. :(
    Deaths Sep 1927
    O'Leary Kate E.E.- 30 - W. Ham 4a-186

Thank you all helpers, you're a magnificent group.

Ancestry has a burial/cremation (from deceased online) of a Kate Elizabeth Emily O'Leary on 11 July 1927 at Newham, London. Do you think that is her?
