I've been trying to find correct family of one Ethel Adams, Father James. :- Ethel Adams 26 married 14 Aug 1909 All Saints, Hatchem Park. Res. 10 Ventseer ? Rd. Father James Adams ???? witness Amy Adams. The diffficultty lies in the marriage image on Ancestry which is cut off before the Father's occupations show. Both entries on the page are of my Rellies- Lambert, Horace & Mary Ann. I know who their Father was but it would have been nice to confirm their occupations. I left a note saying so on image problems before I realised both on the page were mine. So far nothing has changed. Is here anywhere else to view these images to see entire page? Her Husband Horace [a gas meter makerdied 1916 in Christ Church N.Zealand, probate left to his B-in-Law Lnce. Cpl. B. Pritchard. [Sailed to Aust. 1914 I rather think.tin plate worker]"Orama" 22 may 1914. Anc'. directs to a death for Edith in 1947 probate left to a Margaret Ellen Lambert whom I've not come across yet. Not necessarily same Edith. Possible: 1891 res.12 Edale Rd. Pts: James Adams, Southwark: Eliza E. Adams, b. M'sex. Ethel Adams born:c. 1884 Camberwell, London, Civil Parish: St Paul Deptford Ecclesiastical parish: St James RG12; Piece: 503; Folio: 56; Page: 103; 1901-12 Edale Rd. James Adams, Southwark: Eliza E. Adams, b. M'sex. Alice Adams 23 b.Norwood Amy Adams 20 b. Camberwell Ethel Adams 19 b. Camberwell Harry Adams 14 b. Deptford. RG13; Piece: 525; Folio: 180; Page: 48 This has taken me so long that I must now away to my cot. If anyone can assist-my thanks to you.
Lovely Jan, thank you so much. Will have a look-see. I guess those marriage images are not available online other than Ancestry. Have seen several corrections recently attached to various census etc indexes from 1909-13 which haven't had amendments so won't hold my breath waiting. Unless I find another Family Adams with an 'Amy' I'll consider the oone I found to be correct.
You Gem Lizzie, somehow missed her. Not surprising, have bunged up ear with nose & head not far behind. Saw a son in 1913 who it appears may have died 1913-but there were t2o George H. Lambert b. same month. Not found Ethel later with children to any certainty-she possibly moved from Lewisham.
Aww, poor you Wendy, hope you feel better soon. Make a hot toddy, if it doesn't cure you it will numb the pain
Taa Lizzy, not so bad anymore have had two weeks antibiotics & eardrops [which help make my ear dull when it seems to be clearing up] still won't clear completely tho'. I may have to look into this hot toddy business, see if it or rather 'what' it does for me. Been trying to clear emails..27 from FB alone. Don't have the nouse for it apart from a few special ones. May go read my book- Anna Jacobs "The Traders Reward" Really good & very descriptive of early settlers going to Western Australia & shipboard conditions etc.
Enjoy your book .........sounds a good read. Emails can wait! Hot toddy will warm and comfort you. http://www. food.com/recipe/dr-pats-hot-toddy-cold-remedy-234344 I'm away to try and sleep now, catch you later
Not really into whisky but thanks Lizzie, you gave me a nudge to go back to the London Electoral rolls for another look. 1945 found Margaret Ellen Lambert with Ethel, & an Eliza P. Lambert. & Amy Adams 57 Sevenoaks rd Lewisham. later their neighbours were Arthur A. & Kathleen Adams.
Not been able to find her Lizzie. Many Eliza/Elizabeths about. Perhaps as I tidy up other Lambert members, she'll peep out again. Rough a'noon/night, sleep deprived but hanging there. Finally accomplished tasks left laying..[dogs casserole] Ear much better now.
Pardon my bringing this up again, but earlier I thought George Henry Lambert b. 1913 may have also died 1913. However from 1934 to 1939 he is on London electoral rolls with Amy Adams, Ethel [Adams] Lambert & Margaret E. Lambert. 35 Sevenoaks Road Brockley. Lewisham. From 1939 to 1949 I can't find him. Might this suggest absence due to War service? 1945 an Eliza P. Lambert is with Amy Adams, Ethel Lambert, & Margaret E.Lambert, at 57 Sevenoaks rd. Brockley, Lewisham. Not found later. A George H. & Eliza Lambert are at 35 Arthurdon Rd. from 1949 -1960. No proof they are the same people. George Henry said to have died 1986 Lewisham. No online Probate after 1966 on Ancestry. Eliza Proctor Lambert ?? who is this Lady? Where is she from?? Birth Date: 15 Feb 1920 Date of Registration: Oct 2006 Age at Death: 86 Registration district: Lewisham: London Volume: -1Page: -1 Register Number: B94A District and Subdistrict: 242/1B Entry Number: 089 .............. I've searched for an Eliza Proctor or Lambert b. 1920ish. No joy. Only marriage to pop up is for George Henry Lambert to Proctor, Paula c. in 1952 Kensington. Unable to find a Paula Proctor earlier. ........................................................ Truly, I'm not searching my files trying to find mission impossibles for you all, but they keep lining up. While my head is somewhat clearer now, I cannot think which where to go now to sort this all out. I may have grabbed unrelated people but in a weird way they all seem to fit. Please feel free to pop in & indulge me & my imagination.
