Am I seeing a story where there isn't one?

I received an email saying my will was ready for downloading 8(:-), got home and downloaded it......it was a letter off them telling me that I had given the wrong information and they couldn't find it. (ergo I lose the £10 I paid) Oh piggin heck, I missed the 'e' off the end of Poole. Have just resubmitted and paid another £10. I'm the king of stupidity....I blame this heat.

I call that bureaucracy gone a little bit mad - I would have thought (silly me) that they would have taken such a slight variation of spelling as OK. I bet the ‘e’ was missed off on many other occasions....... :sceptical:

Have finally received the will. The part in it that concerns Clara is here:-
    upload_2019-7-22_18-7-12.png

Alexander was born in 1903 while Clara was housekeeper for James Poole.

What do you think. All the children that came after Alexander were all born while Clara was James' housekeeper. Could they be his?

I would bet a pound to a penny that they are. I had a similar situation with one of my branches over in Suffolk. ;)

I bet they were too. He would have been 78-79 when he fathered the last one. That's the pure Welsh air for ya :D

Using TNA money converter the value of £50 in1920 would be worth only £1,452.89 in 2017. This is very misleading.

I'm sure it was actually worth more back then but can't find it's worth.

Considering the income per annum for a bank manager back then was only £99 that makes the £50 that Clara inherited worth a lot more than a measly £1,500.

At their calculations a bank manager today would only get £2,876.71 a year.
