Possibly a needle in a haystack, but I thought I'd have a go.
I'm looking for the parents of Susan Elizabeth Smith born according to trees in 1839 in Strafford, Gennesse, New York.
She married John Parminter apparently in 1866, their daughter Elizabeth was born 1866 in Illinois, and the next one Kate in 1867 was born in Odell, Livingstone, illinois, so maybe that's where they married.
Would a marriage help find the parents? I would like to know if this is the generation of Smiths that came from England

So many Susan Elizabeth Smiths to choose from. I found two but Ancestry had her linked to different spouses. One of them was born 1839 in England the other born 1835, Parents James & Mary- of course.
Baptised age 6.Seventh Presbyterian Church, New York City, New York, USA. I need to send an open P.M. as what I found is wrapped in another site & may not open up - also may be naughty of me. ;)

This may also refer to a completely different Lass as she is referred to as Elizabeth Parminter. So I regret I may be causing interest wrongly -apologies.

On the 1910 census a Susan Parmenter is age 70, born New York, a widow living in Dade Missouri. Fathers birthplace is noted as England. Family Search
1900 Census she is with John Parmenter same address.

On the Kings Point Cemetery, Dade County Missouri site there is a C Thomas Parminter 14/11/1871-9/3/1952 son of John Parminter and SARAH E (SMITH) Parmenter. Perhaps the Sarah is an error and meant to be Susan. :nailbiting:

 You're correct Sue, I was concentrating on the Susan E. & then the Samuel. I was thinking of her Mother but dates of-course are wrong.
    I'm a bit Smith-ed out

Find a grave for Kings Point Cemetery....
    Sarah E (Smith) Parminter 4/5/1839-6/5/1915
    Row 23 ID# 29253882
John O Parminter 8/12/1833-9/9/1906 (USA dates) No idea where the ‘O’ came from.
    Row23 ID# 29253872
However.........there is a photo of the shared headstone and her name engraved on that is SUSAN....not Sarah.
